Stakeholder Investors Platform

Green Currency AS (GC) was formed based on direct experience from due dilligence for international investors, through renewable energy projects where we have raised funds and experienced the value of a close relationship with stakeholders. We have experience from developing countries, both technical, market, finance and from a development perspective.

We have joined forces with our strategic partner Yme Foundation who has worked with international aid and -development projects for 25 years, often in cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NORAD, UNOCHA and UNICEF. Together we develop the “Stakeholder Investors Platform” (SIP) in order to apply crowdfunding techniques and -tech to professionalize involvement of diaspora communities and private investors, in developing countries. We want to offer crowdlending investment opportunities in developing countries, within

  • Green Energy Production (typically solar and wind based production facilities),
  • Cleantech  (Environmental technology and startups)
  • Sustainability-driven projects

Yme foundation contributes with high quality, well documented projects which contributes socio-economically to local communities in developing countries. Green Currency delivers the technology and communication needed to achieve an efficient financing, implementation and follow up - and develop tools to enforce cooperation with diaspora and local entities. Together we can engage

  • The local population (through microinvestment schemes, we ensure the projects are rooted locally)

  • Diaspora who want to get involved in their/their parents country of birth (activities for/with diaspora communities, in the form of assistance, cooperation or investments)

  • Private investors (people who want to invest into local development and follow the projects as they are implemented)

  • Professsional investors (larger entities who want to combine sustainability with profitability)

An actual example where elements from the Stakeholder Investors Platform are currently being implemented, is TVET+ Somalia which aims at develop a whole new educational structure and build + run three Technical and Vocational Education Centers, with add-on business hubs in Somalia. This € 15 mio. project will run for six years. It was formally launched on Feb 10th 2021 and is primarily funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through KfW Development Bank and implemented by Yme Foundation and GSA in close partnership with the Somali Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

As a strategic partner Green currency is heavily involved in developing additional finance models for the centers + related activities (projects within water & renewable energy production + services for startups & local businesses).
